The Win-droid Tablet project

Hey everyone.

I recently purchased an extremely powerful windows tablet which compares to some laptops (netbooks don't even compete) we have these days.

I am aware of the option of installing Google Android on netbooks, desktop computers, and pcs- but what about a windows tablet?

My tablet is everything a pc has- everything- but one thing extra is the touch interface.

Does anyone know whether something like regularly installing android on my tablet would work?

Thank you.

Hey EarlyMon!

Thank you for the warm welcome, I appreciate it.
Wow- that EXOPC really did it. Now I can't imagine what I could do... since my tablet has more hyped-up specs.... wow.

I heard of the EeePC as well- but the 4 hours isn't really reassuring.

See- I was thinking of trying to do a dual boot method.... but my SSD is 32 gigs and I am just not sure than less than 25 will do for the windows partition. Booting won't be a problem as I have seen a vast variety of videos proving that it is doable- with a USB.

My only concern is that if I try to install it might mess up my SSD, and this space that I allocated for the android x86 partition will be lost.

Thanks very much for your response.

I'll just let the cat out of the bag.

We're actively planning new, extensive tablet support here at Android Forums.

I can't say more, but I predict this will become your favorite place to hang out. ;)

Please post your tablet model details - we might have someone lurking around already who might be able to help more - or others who might have the same interests as yourself.

Cheers!

Sounds great! I definitely will enjoy it here.

Here are the specs:

10.1" screen running at 1024 by 800
32GB SSD
2GB DDR3 @ 800MHz RAM
Intel Atom N455 factory overclocked to 1.92GHz (Stable)
Intel GMA x3150
Bluetooth 2.1
Wifi- 802.11 B/G/N

Pretty much all the specs I remember, I'll post later if I missed something!

By the way- to update you, I just found out that my friend was able to put Mac OS on his Motion Computing tablet- but that one has a 1.2GHz dual core CPU.... so I'll see, maybe I'll be able to port it.
