Help The Wrong Setup

[Spectre531]

Hello everyone I do have a dilemma here. ^_^ Well I just picked up my Droid X a couple of days ago. I am both enjoying it and getting frustrated with it at the same time. My problem though is when the man at the store set up my phone, he created a gmail account that I didn't want or need. I already had a gmail account that I was willing to use for this.

My question is if I delete this gmail account that he has installed on my phone as the primary, already which accesses the Market and everything else will there be any extra repercussions by doing so? Or will I be able to set up the account like I want to without any extra hassle?

I did read through the phone itself and it said if I deleted this account I would have to restore it back to factory settings and whatnot. The apps I can reinstall no problem but are there any system things I have to worry about before attempting to do this? Like will I have to do any setups to gain access to the marketplace again or anything like that? I know the contacts will have to be re-entered and stuff like that. But it is the initial system of the phone I am concerned about. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Stay cool everyone. http://www.androidforums.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

my inlaws went through the same thing - all of your contacts can be ported over to your existing gmail account via .csv file

not sure about the apps, but if you use appbrain, you can save the list and push them to your new account setup
