Theme for Swype

I finally have it downloaded to my phone, so i go to install it but it keeps telling me application not installed...am I doing something wrong?

You need to install it with a file management program such as Astro File Manager. Download from the Market if you don't have this or another similar app.

Then go to Settings>Language & Keyboard>Swype and make sure Swype is checked.

Then go to your MMS app or another app where you enter text. Long press on the text box and you will see "Input Method" pop up. Select Swype in "input method."

Enjoy swyping.
 
these are made for the eris. I'm not sure why anyone might have issues installing

reinert which one were you trying to install?
 
Just wondering if this version(s) of swype will also have an expiration date...

Since I had swype before and now have the SwypeGreen with no problems I suppose if it does expire I can always jump ship to one of the other colors.

(FYI: this may mean we'll need you to keep working on color combos)

haha i'm sure these will eventually expire, when they do i'll be back converting these to work with the newer version of swype...it's a lot of work, but someone's got to do it :D

either restart swype be disabling it and switching back to the android keypad, then turn swype back on

or

restart your phone

this should fix the FC issues, also disable audio/haptic feedback

I don't think his version works on the Incredible and not the Eris. I could be wrong though
 
I love your new colors! I would like to change my mainstream Swype to one of these although I am having uploading and/or even transferring it to my SD card to be able to open it with Astro. Am I missing a step somewhere?

first thing you need to do is uninstall your previous version of swype. Several ways to do that....thru settings>manage apps. Or, just find it thru Astro on your SD card, touch it and it should give you an option to uninstall. Then download the new theme, find it on your SD card (should be under downloads), touch it and it should give you an option to install. Then do what Zutmin says above....

Thank you - for some reason it was not working the way I had uninstalled/reinstalled the other versions but after the third time it did.

Way cool!
 
Any ideas on how to make them work on a Moto? My wife would love to have the pink one. I installed the same .apk on both of our phones but that one expired.
 
okay got colored themes but can we get a plain swype with just bigger letters on the keyboard? possibly bold with a larger font? let me know, I would donate.

I agree similar to the color scheme the default keyboard has without a theme and bigger letters i wouldnt mind either... let me know if and when you do this
