Root {Theme}{Port} Matted Blues

I just recently updated to DJ05 and this theme looks great with JT's clean v7. It gives my SF an aesthetically pleasing color combination. my next theme to try is nextang, Thanks nisuJ17

I just rooted my phone yesterday and installed the DJ05 update so I am still new to this, but I really like this theme (at least based on the pictures). My question is, what is the easiest way to get back to my stock theme if I end up getting bored with this theme? Do I have to do a backup in cwr and then restore from there?

Right now I am running ADW with one of their free themes but other than that nothing fancy. If I install this, will certain things not work properly or since I am just running a basic theme this will just effectively replace everything?

Thanks!

That would be sweet! SO basically uou would have two zip files, one for the new theme and then one to switch back to the stock "theme?"

I think I am interested in the engraved edition and will most likely give it a try once I have an easy way to switch back to stock rather than doing a full restore.

So to install these themes I just put it on my sd card the same way I put the ROM zip file and load it through clockwork the same way I did the ROM?

yup, basically ill just strip out the apps and stock frameworks from jts rom and make it flashable...so you dont overwrite the stuff his rom does

Sweet, thanks! So if I go to install another theme to try something else out down the road, does it overwrite the previous theme? Or does it install it somewhere where I can select which theme to apply?

Themes will overwrite each other when flashed....the only issues you may encounter is if the new theme does not theme all of the Alps the previous one did....in that case you may have say nextheme apps on your matted blues theme

But I will make a back to stock for the framework and for Alps commonly themed...ie dialer, settings, browser

If you get around to this could you update this post? I will probably try this out later, but it would be nice to have a quick way to get back to the stock theme if I end up not liking it.

Thanks for all of your hard work!

Awesome, you are the man! Also, I am assuming that the zip file only has to be installed on the sd card to do the actual install and then it can be removed correct? I wouldn't imagine it would ever have to access files in the zip file once installed. (Is the same try for ROM's?)

The clockwork backup takes a full image of the phone correct (so all data and apps and whatnot)? That way if I screw something up I can just restore from the latest clockwork backup?

Thanks again!

flash it like any other theme/rom...you can leave it on your sdcard and use it again when you need it...it wont disappear

cwr backup takes a complete image of your phone, apps and all so if soemthing goes wrong restore the backup

I guess what I was getting at is if I wanted to free up some space for whatever reason, is it safe for me to delete those files. I know they won't just disappear.

I am assuming that if there is more than one backup it will give you the option of which backup to choose?

yes, and yes :)

If I am running a theme for ADW should I put the stock ADW theme back first, or does it now really matter? And I just throw the whole zip file on my sd card just like updating ROM's?

Also, did you get a chance to load the "back to stock" theme up anywhere? I made a cwr backup anyway just in case, but it would be nice to have the stock theme just in case. WIll your stock theme still have reboot options as well?

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for posting back. Yea, I ended up finding your back to stock zip in that other thread and I ended up loading the engraved theme last night without any problems.

I was a little nervous at first because it took a real long time to boot up afterward, but it eventually booted and all was fine.

first boot on a theme that has reboot options is long as it patches your system to use 3 reboot options from the power menu....remember that if you flash a theme without them you will loose the ability to turn off your phone or use the power button....hmmm i should put stock android.policy files in the "back to stock" file....that would make sense i suppose :)

Ha, yea. I think I asked that in one of my earlier posts because I read that if you use reboot options in one theme but not the other it would screw up the power button.

I guess I will have to redownload your back to stock theme later then :)

Just wanted to post a little reminder. It looks like the file hasn't been updated yet. I would definitely like to have this just in case.

Thanks again for all of your work.

Yeah sorry I had a busy evening....ill try and get it up today. :)

Ha no problem, it happens. Just wanted to post a friendly reminder. I am not in a rush for it at this point since I like the theme, but I just want it in case I ever switch to a theme without reboot options.

Thanks again
