Root [THEME][SEP 9TH] Artificial ICS flavor

Hello everyone!

Here's a theme I whipped up for myself for kicks. It features a look/feel similar to ICS. It's rough around the edges and needs some work on my part (Extended Power menu icons, notification drawer, notification toggles just to name a few), but overall it works! Here are the features:

Transparent Notification bar
Circle battery mod with 1% steps
Blue list glow
Modified icon pack for notifications, radio, wifi, etc.
ICS inspired blue color across the theme
Fly window animation (Couldn't integrate the ICS window effect, will try to do it later if possible)
Holo Launcher for Gingerbread (Free version from Play Market)
Holo Locker (ICS/Jellybean lockscreen) (Free version from play market)

One particularity of this theme is that the Holo Locker does not kick in right away when the ROM launches. So unlock your screen, select your launcher and wait for about 1 minute for everything to settle. Once it's settled, lock your screen and unlock it to see Holo Locker kick in.

If anyone has any issues and wants to chime in, feel free!

I installed this on the latest version of your custom rom using clockworkmod recovery and now my phone just hangs on the "telus" screen - it won't boot up.

EDIT: Debricked with the kdz update utility, and then I had a good hour or so of rage after trying to reboot into recovery only to find that LG's shitstained "reset everything right away without any sort of confirmation or warning" recovery replaced the clockworkmod recovery I had installed earlier. Lost all my text messages, contacts, apps and settings. So mad.

I'll probably never bother trying to install this again, sorry Karendar, but it's just not worth the trouble.

Hey, sorry for the troubles! I sort of feel bad... For oyhers, dont flash. if you did, pull battery, hold vol down + home + power for recovery and reflash my rom... Ill fix the rom compatibility in R5 I promise! If youre ever in the montreal area, tell me and ill buy you a beer for the troubles. ;)
 
Don't worry about it karendar, I probably shouldn't be complaining given all the support you have offered to people who are still stuck with this phone in the first place :p

It would have been really nice to know that just reflashing the zip of your custom rom would have fixed the issue though. I wouldn't have actually tried to reflash any of LGs terrible software which was what caused all my settings and files to be deleted in the first place.

Looking forward to R5!
 
I tested this out on my spare phone and it worked fine for me. Kind of neat but I think I prefer the old look. Probably just used to it more.

You might not like R5 everything in R5 then. ;) I'll add the circle battery mod, ICS animated windows and possibly transparent notification window (Not bar). I'll keep Zeam Launcher though.

By the way, forgot to mention that to uninstall this, if you flash back the ROM, you also have to uninstall Holo Launcher and Holo Locker, as they're installed in /data/app/ and will stay after flashing R4 back.
 
Ya I like keeping everything pretty plain. I use launcher pro and keep everything dark colours. It is pretty easy to change back. I did decide to keep the Holo Locker though, kind of like it.

Holo locker is super nice, I agree! Makes my Shine Plus feel like my Galaxy S2 a little. ;)

Circle battery mod is super practical because you have your battery percentage right on your notification bar... So I don't think people'll complain about that. transparent Dropdown notification is a nice cosmetic change too and ICS animation is very low profile... I'll release a stock framework and a modded framework so you can choose between one or the other, I guess.

It's not really going out of my way, I'd just make the main ROM with the mods and supply a "stock" framework in a flashable zip. ;) Takes all of 2 seconds to do... I don't want to fork development into two. That'd be time consuming!
