Root [Theme] Theme Chooser for CM7, OMGB, & OMFGB; Black, White, and Chrome Theme Updated v1.2.5 8/16/11

I started working on this for the CM7 theme chooser because I didn't want to do it manually. Doing it manually would require me to update the theme every night to keep up to date with the nightlies and that started getting old.

This is what I have so far, and I will continue to work on it until I am satisfied.

Enjoy for those that want to use this ;)

Install through CWR; once the phone reboots you can pick the theme through the Theme Chooser app in pretty much any 2nd-int Rom (not MIUI).

After applying the theme, reboot, to ensure all changes take effect :D

MetaMorph add-on:
I made this for CM7.1 and it worked fine on my DX, but it should also work for a lot of other phones as long as they are HDPI phones.

I suggest you make a backup of your current setup because this will overwrite framework files that the Theme Chooser cannot redirect due to limitations on the way the Theme Chooser works. This also changes the animations to the Fly in and Flip style animations of ApeX :D.

Install Instructions:

1. Download the BWC_Morph.zip file.

2. Put it in the /sdcard/AndroidThemes/ folder on your SD Card.

3. You must have MetaMorph installed, if you don't, download it from the Market and install it.

4. Open MetaMorph and select "Unzip/Extract new theme"; select "BWC_Morph.zip".

5. Apply the theme and that's it. If the phone does not reboot on it's own, be sure to reboot after applying the theme.

ZipThemer Method add-on:
If MetaMorph doesn't work for you, you can use this ZipThemer update I made; it accomplishes the same thing as the MetaMorph method, except it's applied through CWR like a regular flash zip file instead of using MetaMorph:

Are you using go launcher on your phone and if so what theme are you using? Have you considered possibly making a matching theme for a launcher?

Yeah, I'm using Go Launcher EX. I may make a matching theme for Go Launcher when I get more time.

I am trying the MetaMorph addon, how long dose it take? I have been onthe Please Wait , "applying framework-re.apk theme 1 of 1" for 4 or 5 mins.

It's pretty quick, only a matter of seconds.

Maybe you got a bad download of the zip file.
 
Bo, I've got the old market. Is BWC supposed to theme it black? (cause mines still green) Or do I need the newer market? Anybody got a link to the new market apk?
 
I didn't theme any Markets for this. Right now I'm working on the new Market and I will include it as a separate update because you can't change layouts with T-mobile theme engine (at least that's what I've seen so far); there are some changes being made in the layout of the new Market.

You could also use the old v2.3.6 Market I had themed, if you still have it.

I did a reboot while it was stuck and it booted back up ok, not for sure if everything got changed. I had applyed it through the theme chooser before trying the other. What would have changed in metemorp that wouldnt have in the theme chooser?

You can apply the metamorph even if you were not on the theme. What the metamorph does is replace those files located in the metamorph zip with associated files on your system.

Basically it overwrites files/pngs instead of redirecting them to another location like the the themes from Theme Chooser do.
 
aight bo, you dont check your private messages, i need your help with some XML's :p all the .9's are done, i still have issues with the xmls hit me up bud :)
 
metamorph is telling me it cant extract to system, due to not enough room? ever run into that trying to install metamorph?
this is a fresh install of CM7, so I don't see how the directory could be full...
Figures, as soon as I post this, i try to load it again (for the fifth time( and it goes right through.... nevermind
