Help Themes???

I am wanting to change the look of my optimus m theme. I have already messed up one phone trying to get it rooted so this one will stay stock for a while. Is it possible to change the theme without it being rooted? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if I am following you 100%, but you can use different launchers without rooting. Just install out and then switch to it using LG Home.

Yeah, I don't know what it was. asadullah fixed that particular problem last night. So, it wans't the memory card.

What I am looking for is the ability to change the stock theme..ie bottom task bar, widgets and such. I already messed up one phn and was able to get it replaced the other day. I won't be rooting this one anytime soon, but want to give it a much more personal look.

Reilus is correct, Launcher pro is a start. It will allow you to change the bottom task bar look, but it's probably not exactly what you're looking to do. As far as widgets the Pro Plus version will let you resize them but again that's about it.

Without rooting the phone and gaining complete control over it, you're going to find pretty limited options. Despite some horror stories you may see here, it's pretty hard to brick this phone.

Even if you do manage to do so, there is plenty of help here to get you back on track. All you need to do really is ask and it's here.

I also vote Launcher Pro. I have been using it a little over a month and have been very happy with it. I love the ability to have three task bars. That saved me a lot of screen real estate.

I grabbed launcher pro...I like it. I the ability to rotate to whole screen...pretty nice feature. I will "probably" look into rooting again. I may actually have a friend of mine do it for me..he is real good at that stuff.

Launcher pro is a great way to go. I've been using it for quite some time now and absolutely love it. If you dig in and really take advantage of some of the nice features like task bar swipe operations (for example on the task bar if I run my finger from the browser icon upwards without clicking on it, it pulls up a convenient pop up if all of my bookmarks) You also have the ability to have your last screen connect to your first one sothat if you're on your last home screen and try to keep going it will loop around. Those are just a couple of the really cool features. Highly worth paying for the pro key but the basic free version is completely worth it all by itself

Here are some possibilities with launcher pro:

I used LCD density to increase the resolution and make room fro the five icons as opposed to four.

You can add folder organizer to create invisible folders and icons over your wallpaper. I use 1px, transparent icon files. But, there are other ways.

Wow...its beginng to look pretty nice I may pay the cpl of bucks it costs to get the full version. It does look very customizable. I appreciate the help.

lol, it can get pretty addicting coming up with new designs for your phone (if you're into that like I am.) If you ever need inspiration check out this thread. There is also a similar topic over at xda but I won't link offsite, I'm sure you can find it if you're interested. I spend as much time designing my phone as I do actually using it. Have fun with it!
