Root Theming help.

I've been looking around at the themes that are out for the gingerbread and I have a few questions. I am happy with the look of the stock gingerbread but now i'm looking to throw a theme on it.

I know I have to be deodexed and got those files to do so. Is there a difference between theming and putting custom roms like Liberty on the phone? Basically, can I just put a theme on my phone or do I have to put a custom rom on first then a theme?

You don't need a custom ROM to apply themes......just make sure the theme is compatible with your setup and you should be good.
 
Solid dude...lol.....sorry....couldn't resist saying that. Can you guys be so kind as to point me in the direction of rooted GB themes?

EDIT: I know about the list at the top of the page. Just wondering if there are any more out there to try out. I kinda like the Alpha 1 theme but looks like, from other posts, it's not compatible to rooted GB latest release.:(
 
O'k, thanks. But now I have a problem. I deodexed the phone and rebooted. Everything was fine. I rebooted to cwm to install the alpha 1 theme. Rebooted, stuck in bootloop. tried getting back to recovery, no go. Pulled the battery, got into recovery and did a factory reset. Now It has been about 10 minutes and it appears im still in a bootloop. Any ideas?
 
Yup, Used d2 bootstrap. I have so far tried mounting the system, no good. Fixing permissions, no good. Re flashing the deodex.zip file, so far still in bootloop.

I'm going to try and re flash the theme and see what happens. If all else fails I will just flash my backup and try and dig up some more info on this problem.
 
I d/l'ed the deodex file for the rooted GB.I have the latest 3 file GB installed. To my knowledge, this is only rooted and not deodexed.


Airmaxx, is root explorer an app or in the phone?

EDIT: Nevermind, got it....lol
