Hey guys I've been working on theming and Ive hit many road blocks...

Like when I decompile stock framework-res.apk with APK Manager and then compile it - I cant open Text messages, but I can view the list of people I received texts from.

If I decompile any modified framework it wont get past the VZW boot screen.


If I edit the stock theme with JUST my images I cant open any app but the Browser.

If I borrow GRZLA's Update.zip for Gingerbread VZC. It works PERFECTLY fine - but the menu text color is white and I need it black (stock) - Also I'm not one to steal work.

Ah lol you got that error cause it just so happened the time you downloaded it was the 5 minutes if was changing something. it should all be good now.

Thanks for the help man, wasnt quite what I needed ( I have a stock framework ) What I needed was a way to decompile, edit xml and recompile successfully for a clean boot. I have resolved the issue, and will be writing an extensive guide to theming soon!

was it the .9pngs? they are a bei@ch... i hate draw9patch... and i used notepad for the xml

Never use notepad for XML, always use Notepad++ or the like, and I found that .9.pngs need to be compiled, draw9patch isnt good enough, now it all works like a charm
