Root TheoryRoms

I have been using Th3oryRoms for a while with my favorite launcher, Launcher Pro Plus and have always had problems with BSOD and lockups. I am running 2.0 now with just the blur, and so far it has been uncharacteristically stable. I am starting to question whether LPP is the root of the problem so I thought I would solicit responses from other LPP and Th3oryRom users.

I use LPP and only had crashes when I initially reboot. I am currently running D3BLURR (from the new Th3ory Pak) and loving it so far!

Within moments of my post I froze. I then rebooted and froze once more. I'm going back to 1.8 with LPP. It is slightly less unstable than 2.0. I'm going to have to order a replacement from verizon because my friend at costco knows I'm rooted. He says I've voided my warranty. Some friend huh?

Wow...some friend indeed >.>...I had ran Launcher Pro on 1.8 and below. I currently have LP (Non Plus) as a backup for my Go Launcher Ex. I have not really had any issues with LP on prior installments.

That is horrible, especially considering you could flash stock and unroot! Could you try that with Costco?

Welp, technically, what I'm {cough cough} advising {cough cough} you to do is illegal to begin with, because technically all of us rooted folks have in fact voided our warranty, but TECHNICALLY that really does not constitute a Warranty void IMNSHO b/c TECHNICALLY (in Technicolor) (sorry, had to go there), with the ability for all of us to revert to pure stock, that cannot and should not be deemed as a warranty voiding action in the first place.

So, while normally I would not condone such illegal activity, I cannot agree with the principle on which this voiding of the warranty is based in the first place, so I'll stand my ground.

If you have water damage / physical damage to the phone, I'll tell you to suck it up and pay to buy a new one / replacement / different phone, but I draw the line on rooting....

I concur. But it would not be honest and I don't want to be a hypocrite. Can I offer you a Ricola for your throat?

You could go to another CostCo store where they do not know you....

I agree 100%, especially considering that Android is open source to begin with! The whole point of Android is that it is not supposed to be locked down like iOS!

Are you sure it is the phone that is the issue here?

How doe sit run when you just install the ROM and no apps that you normally install?

I'm suspecting that it is an app more than the ROM itself, unles you are running nothing but the pure ROM....

And I'd still suggest reverting to stock and re-rooting and starting from scratch (Yes, I know, a PITA, bu ti will definitely rule out any of your apps and / or cache and / or data downloaded on the phone, giving you a clear indication if it is the ROM or not.
