ThickButtons

Thanks Phil, I'll give it a shot. I am pretty quick on the stock keyboard but every now and then things get janky. I think I'm too fast for it; multitouch on the native would help, but I'm adapting.

I'm trying it now. I like the idea but I don't think I'll end up sticking with it for long.

I don't like having to go to switch to the symbols keyboard to add an ! or ?

While the keys getting bigger is nice, sometimes it moves them around too much. The problem isn't finding the keys, it's hitting the right one. They shouldn't move away from where I'm expecting them to be, it's almost causing more harm than good.

And keeping the dedicated bar for word suggestions takes up extra screen space the whole time.

I agree. I already switched back to stock. I like being able to long press to get symbols and numbers on stock.

Not too laggy for me. Works pretty well. Only issue I found so far is when I tried typing "Mike", I entered "Mi" and it didn't suggest the "k". I could still enter the "k", but it was a much smaller key since it wasn't enlarged...

I'll keep it as standard for a while...

would be nice if words you added to your dictionary would considered while this was suggesting letters to you.

After countless typos with the standard virtual keyboard, I tried Thickbuttons and I think it's amazing. I may try Swype soon, too, but I'm very happy with it.

It's incredibly smart at predicting words, enlarging those letters it thinks I'm going to hit next. And it's almost always right. If I totally confound it, it reverts to all keys the same size.

It hasn't completely eliminated needing the backspace key but it's been a dramatic change for me when I was making 6 errors trying to type a single word.

i think the idea is good and will probably help people who text slower so they have time to see where the letters have ended up, but i text fast and do not really look at the keyboard that much and when the letters move from where i think they would be it just messes me up more than it helps. i guess ill just stick with the swype and sense keyboard.

i saw another post that said it was laggy and i just wanted to add in that i have no lag. it actually seems much faster than the stock keyboard is.

I downloaded and tried it out, because I do have thick fingers. The problem is, when I'm typing and the letters change, it throws off my hand-eye coordination. I'm used to an iphone keyboard/default and it just is reallly wierd.

I'll stick with Swype k thnx :D

Hi all!

My name is Philip, I am working at ThickButtons.

I just want to let you know that I have posted announcement at your Application Announcement thread.

We have also turned off copy protection for our app so I hope that should make it available at android market.

We also have users community Community-powered support for ThickButtons you can ask question, report problems and request features there. We are answering them ASAP.

Hey Phil. I, for one, appreciate it when a developer joins the community and is available to work with us using their product. It is my opinion that in the end it makes for a better product. So....Thanks!
