Help Thin case recommendations?

Hey guys, i just recently nicked my Gnex! Not a big fan of cases because of the extra bulk it adds to the phone. Any good thin cases out there??? Thanx.

I agree not a big fan of cases either. When i bought the phone I purchased the shell case from Verizon. It is tthin but I liked the phone better without it. My issue became i found the phone very slippery without the case. I decided to try Skinomi's carbon fiber skin. It is not a case but more of wrap. This will not pprevent against drops but wiwill prevent against scratches and makes the phone much less slippery. No bulk at all. Takes about 15 minutes to apply. I would recommend.

Diztronic TPU V3 is the shit and it fits the extended battery . Also the Case Mate Barely There is even thinner then the Diztronic it doesn't have as much protection but I'm a big fan of it (it does not fit the extended battery)

Also the Diztronic is only like $9 bucks shipped and comes with a free screen protector that is actually pretty decent the Case Mate cost me I think $22 shipped

Ya, if only somebody would start a thread about cases we could all go there and read about them. Hmmmm........

I see nothing wrong with this thread. The other CASE thread you are referring to everyone seems to be hung up on a certain case. Maybe rename that thread? Hmmm....

got the incipio feather - its pretty thin, but i feel like it could be thinner. disappointed that it makes the phone more slippery!!

Incipio Feather - nice fit but it doesn't cover enough of the phone's corners for any protection, and created a sharp point as I let the phone rest on my pinky finger while browsing (uncomfortable).

Case Mate Barely There - slightly more protection around the corners than the feather. Apparently designed for the Verizon LTE, since with the GSM phone there is a gap from the mid point to the top of the phone, which also allows the left & right edges of the case to protrude near the top. Also if you press on the screen the phone rocks back and forth because of this gap.

As you can see I don't like either of these cases. Waiting for the Rinke Slim I ordered to arrive.

The Rinke Slim was almost great but doesn't fit the LTE Nexus exactly right. Had to return it. Using Incipio Feather until my Carbon Fiber case gets here from Hong Kong. Hopefully that will be everything I'm after.

Ooo. Where did you get this Carbon Fiber case?

Wow thanks. I missed the Matte Black Slim from Rinke. Getting this ASAP.

On XDA they were saying the Ringke doesn't quite come up over the edge on top of the LTE, so it won't protect the glass if the phone is laid down on it's face. And I'm pretty sure it doesn't work with the extended battery. I think it looks good enough to take a chance though. I just haven't convinced my self to pull the trigger. Also the metallic is back-order and that is the that looks pretty seamless w/ the phone. The matte black might give it better grip though.

which ones fit with the extended battery???

The Diztronic Rev. 3 fits the extended battery just fine. I ordered one but didn't find it as great as most people on here did. Still definitely a solid case for <$10. I just ordered the new Cruzer Lite case, which also fits the extended battery and people are raving about. It comes tomorrow, so I can update with thoughts then. Yes, Rearth says the Ringke is compatible with both GSM/LTE Nexus, but also states a disclaimer that it does not cover all the way to the top of the LTE Nexus. Perfect fit with GSM Nexus.

I contacted RearthUSA asking if they have plans to make a version of the Ringke case specifically to fit the LTE as perfectly as the GSM.
Their reply:

"We are discussing this issue with our manufacture. Just keep checking back with us for updates."

The Ringke case is really nice but the fit on the LTE Gnex starts to get annoying. It's not going to fall off but since you know it's not on there right, it will start to bother you. Also, if anyone has one of the Philips Android speaker docks, it seems most cases that cover/protect the bottom of the phone cause trouble with connecting it to the dock.

To update as promised, just got the Cruzer Lite case I linked to above. Simply awesome. I'm not personally a huge fan of the Android guy on the back, but it blends in nicely (at least with the black case), and the rest of the case looks perfect. I am using the extended battery and have a slight "give" on the right side of the phone, however, I will play with putting the phone in from different angles and see if it eliminates the give completely. Regardless, this Cruzer Lite case is definitely superior to the Diztronic Rev 3, in my opinion. Thus, the Diztronic is going back.
