Thin vs. 3D

In my opinion, thin phones are nothing but a status/glam feature. What do you really benefit from it other than looking cool.

Agreed. Those super thin phones are something Apple fanboys and my gf can get excited over.

The EVO 4G and 3D definitely aren't for men with princess hands. That is who the iPhones are made for.

Best post I have seen on this forum hands down.

Its thickness doesn't bother me since it is virtually no different from the original. Had it been bigger, I would have been kind of pissed. But, I DO wish they had made it a unibody design or even an aluminum or metal battery door. The plasticy feel of the EVO sucks. I'm ready for a phone that is somewhat quality design ensured.

Completely agree. On my DInc I didn't like the battery cover. All my phones go in cases but I do like the build of the iPhone.

The new EVO 3D is too thiiiiiick.

The Sony Experia Arc has a 4.2" screen and is thinner than the iPhone 4.

^1500 MA battery. I guarantee that the Sony Arc is much better made than anything HTC regurgitates....

There was a time I would have agreed, but Sony products are definitely not what they used to be. I remember when a Sony TV was what everybody wanted, now i don't know a single person that has one and their laptops are complete junk, everyone I know who has one does nothing but complain or they buy something else.

the thickness wasn't much of an issue with me until other comparable phones were coming out thinner. the Galaxy S II has the same size screen and is still thin so screen size has no bearing on thickness. also I don't think power would have been an issue with thinness, since Samsung was able to make a thin phone without sacrificing power, if you check the benchmark tests on the Galaxy S II it seems pretty powerful. I happen to like the feel of the EVO. but I wouldn't mind a more solid feel. dare I say it I wouldn't mind an Android phone with the physical design of an *cough* iPhone *cough*

Im right their with you, aesthetically youre hard pressed to find a more visually appealing phone. I just dont like the invasive nature of Apple products, they dont carry them on my network(sprint), lacks the customizable UI, basic apps that should be free cost money, the screen size, and lack of 4G connectivity.

I was a little bothered by the size of the original EVO, but I was able to overlook that with it being clearly the best phone out. with other manufacturers having devices with VERY similar specs to the EVO 3D, I think having a thinner phone is a larger plus over one having 3D. with thinner phones being available with similar specs I may not upgrade to the EVO 3D, right off the bat.

Im the opposite of you on this spectrum, Im a person with larger hands than about 80% of the population(although Im average height) so the extra size of the EVO was a welcome change from all the other small phones I feel like I could snap in my had if I pinch hard enough.

Hey hey hey, Ive got a sony laptop right now and other than the random moment of lag I have no problems with it.

I know a lot of people are excited about the 3D feature on the new EVO but I was actually looking forward to see how thin the phone would be. I was actually disappointed to see that the phone had the same thickness as the original EVO. After seeing the advances Samsung made with how thin the Galaxy S II I am disappointed with how thick the EVO 3D is. so I ask would you rather have 3D or a thinner phone, like the Galaxy S II?

I was hoping the evo 3D would be thicker. I have no idea how they packed all of the features, in what will be the greatest phone for at least the next year. in to such a small form. 4x the power and no increase in size. I agree, amazing.
