Well I'm new to the dinc community. I was wondering if there's little qwerks the dinc has that y'all could tell me bout, like the signal meter not being accurate or to get a full charge turn it off when the light is green and continue charging?

That's the two major quirks. Some people have touch screen issues (screen doesn't respond when the phone isn't being held).

turn off GPS when you do not specifically need it (like for navigation). having GPS on will drain your battery much faster. there are all sorts of toggle apps to help with this. power control widget that comes with the phone is one.

That's not correct, gps is only used when an app actively uses it(you'll see the satellite dish icon), by turning it "off" all your doing is creating an extra step for yourself when you need it and not saving any battery.

One of the first things I learned when I had my Incredible was to pay no attention to the bars for signal reading. They really didn't mean much of anything. I always had 0-1 bar in my basement, yet had crystal clear call quality and 3G. Go figure!

Also, little things can make a huge difference in your battery life. If you're not using the Sense stock, weather and news apps, turn off the sync. They are defaulted to be on. Try turning your screen brightness down. I always had my Inc, and currently have my Thunderbolt, below 50 percent and I can see just fine. Check your sync time settings on different apps you run. Some will be defaulted to sync like every five minutes, which is not always necessary. Doing just a few little things like that will make a major improvement. I've never had battery issues, so i guess it really does work!

Just a few things off the top of my head. I hope you enjoy your new Incredible!

Oh, as far as the green battery full light. If you charge your phone until the green light comes on, then turn the phone off, the amber light will return. You'll be able to charge for a while longer to get an actual full charge. For whatever reason, the full charge doesn't happen when the phone is on. The alternative is to just charge the phone with it off the whole time, but that's not always an option.

I always charge my phones overnight, so I stick to a charging schedule. It works for me, and as long as I follow through every day, I don't have any issues. Even if my phone is say at 40 percent left, I still put it on the charger at night. If I don't, it gets cranky. :)

If I use the power bar and unselect the sync symbol will things still sync as I have scheduled them? Or does that stop syncing all together?

Yeah it does I tried it and after a few hours I got go updates. I waited a few hours since I have most of my stuff to refresh every 2 hours

If you say so. It seemed to kill my battery when I had it on. My battery life is tons better when its off. Since I dont tag myself on any lame social networking sites, I only need it when using navigation so its no biggie to turn it on first with one button using widgetsoid.

That means something is using/trying to use the GPS to get a location regularly. This is not normal. However, as you said you can easily fix the symptom by trying the GPS on/off as needed. I personally wouldn't worry about it beyond that.
