Things you didn't know the Hero could do

Thought this would be a cool place for people to add things others may not know about. For instance, today I bought a cable so i could plug my Hero into my car stereo deck and listen to Pandora. Had no idea you could also make and receive calls and hear the other person thru your car speakers. So its basically a hands free device in the car and saves me from having to buy a Bluetooth, love it.

any phone with a headphone jack can do that but it often creates a lot of feedback and echo and people will ALWAYS say "am i on speaker phone" or "take me off of speaker phone"

plus there usually isnt a convenient spot to set ur phone that's close enough for the mic to pick up ur voice clearly... but yes to stay on topic that is something the hero can do.

Well... I didn't know it came with this amazing support group, filled with people so patient and willing to help. I honestly thought I was only buying a smart phone, not a whole smart community!

The one thing I was suprized to find out was if the phone is ringing and you want it to be silent, just flip it over so it's face down.

after playing with the hero so much... I was suprised you could actually make phone calls on it too. That was a nice little easter egg

I actually learned this somewhere cant remember if it was here or xda but if you hold down the send and the menu and hit end it will reboot your phone, saves the time of pulling the battery or holding down the end/power button

that's good for people who haven't rooted. but if you have, you can just download the reboot app.

My favorite so far is the non-market remote for XBMC that's put out by one of the XBMC devs. The Boxee remote worked but the XBMC remote is just amazing in its functionality.

I didn't find this until yesterday and I am huge HTPC nerd and phone geek so I figure someone else might like it.

To delete a single text message, use a long press on the message you want to delete and choose Delete from the pop up menu
