Think I might be regretting getting Inspire over Atrix.

See, thing is, I really like the Inspire. However, im worried that in a year or so im going to want a dual core phone. Plus the Screen technicaly is better on the Atrix and the battery life is better. However, I really like the camera and feel of the Inspire, plus the Interface is better. I dont now, maybe im just having inital buyers remorse ill get over. I do like the Inspire alot. I dont know, what do you guys think? Will I really miss not having a dual core CPU and is the battery life alot better on Atrix?

if it's the interface that is really bothering you, you can always install home replacements or root it

that is par for the coarse for technology ... and cell phones is one of the fastest moving target.

I regret buying Samsung galaxy s over atrix........thoooough...samsung galaxy s does have a nice screen however.

Thing is I really like the inspire, but the battery, screen, and lack of dual core frightens me for the future year or so until I can upgrade again. How much better is the screen in thr atrix? Is the processor going to be good enough for most things in the coming year or two? And how much better is the screen and battery really? Thing is. I already bought a screen and phone protector for this inspire, which in total was like 50 bucks. In you opinion would it be worth it? How capable is inspire tech wise for gaming and apps?

Dual core CPU's aren't the end all and be all...

They provide more processing power but you can probably expect to see quad core CPU's at some point in the future...

Personally my suggestion is to get the phone that you like the best... the heck with raw processing power. In six months, 1 year, and 2 years whatever phone you get will likely be obsolete. Unless phone technology slows down there's little to be done to stop that.

That's true, however i had access to the better phone off the bat and didn't go with it. Which is why I'm kicking myself

Chose the Atrix mainly because of the battery. No need for a cell phone which has a poor battery life. Was nervous about HTC too since I'm comfortable with Motorola. I like Swype too.

Yes you are regretting you choice. The question is should you be. I say probably not. Outside of the fact that someday, Android may require dual core for some as yet unseen phone OS. If the phone can adequately perform it's duties as it is now it likely always will.

What types of apps will need more power to operate? Flash maybe. but I think Adobe is working it's tail off to make it need less power not more. Do you anticipate editing HD video on the phone in the future. Dual core PC's don't really handle that very well so I suppose a phone needs to be as powerful as possible for such a task.

How big a mobile gamer are you? If the latest and greatest games are your cup of tea then, just like in the PC world, the latest and greatest hardware will always be your best choice.

I just got my Inspire two days ago and i love it. The phone is perfect on stock and i had 0 complaints :D. Even battery life was good. But being the little rooter and flasher i am i had to go ahead and do it :p.

But i don't see the need for dual core phones, i guess thats just me but i feel todays phones perform great and fast enough with 1 core.

it all comes down to personal preference. if you're a power user or play a lot of 3D games the Atrix would suit you perfectly. plus it's screen isn't too shabby. and with the atrix you're a little more "future-proof"

i'm kinda new to the Android game so the Inspire is perfect for me. i have a few games, and usually use my phone for social networking and pictures. and the big screen is perfect for watching vids. and although the Inspire's processor is very capable of running most of the current games in the market you will still see better performance on a dual core device.

luckily i bought my phone off contract so i didn't have to renew it. so i'll see if i still like this phone in a year when my contract is up. and hopefully then there will be even better devices :D

I was in the same boat last week. So glad I chose the Atrix over the Inspire. Cost wise the difference was just $25, so it made that much more sense!

Can't you return it back if you wanted to within 30 days?

Is there something that Inspire cannot do for you, but Atrix can? I doubt it.
Inspire has a much better UI than the crappy Motoblur on Atrix (despite that Motorola was promising to reduce the use of Motoblur).
Besides, Android OS can't really make a full use of dual-cores as it is now.
I must admit though that the qHD resolution and a better battery in Atrix are worth consideration.

Another thing - don't lock yourself on 2 year contracts. I always go for a 1 year contract and simply prolong it at the end of it for another year + a new phone.

I think I can as long as its in like new condition. thing is I dont know what fees they are going to charge me if I exchange for Atrix. I know ill have to pay the price difference, but I dont know if theres a restocking fee for the phone im returning or what price ill have to pay for the Atrix: The 200 dollar 2 year contract price or the $499 off contract.

main reasons I want the atrix now is the screen and battery. Plus the processing power. I dotn know if Atrix supports MP4 videofiles.

oooh man i'm feeling the same as you buddy. I had the choice between atrix or galaxy s..I chose the galaxy s....lol.

Well with galaxy S, at least you got a better screen. Side by side, the galaxy S has a better display, even at slightly lower resolution!
