Root Think I rooted my phone correctly? (help)

Sideloaded Gingerbreak, ran gingerbreak, hit the root button, automatically restarted my phone, had the superuser app, but I still get denied when I try to install an app (get the only trusted market install popup).

Some help please, tried searching but couldn't find anything

Also installed a few screenshot apps (screenshot IT) and some other one and when I load them it says phone not rooted...

Edit: Also none of my apps got erased which is strange since I read all data would get erased.. already made a backup of all my apps.

Ok I'm pretty sure it's rooted but I downloaded Screenshot IT and Screenshot (free apps from market that require root) and I get errors saying my phone is not rooted.

I figured out the problem with allowing non market apps to install so that's one thing taken care of.

Any help will be much appreciated in regards to the screenshot apps,

There are times where gingerbreak will install the superuser app (making it look like you are rooted) but does not put the "su" binary (which is what gives you root) in the correct location. Try running gingerbreak again.

Now a 100% way to test if you are rooted

1. Download ConnectBot from the market

2. Launch ConnectBot and get past the startup help

3. Select local (change the drop down from ssh to local) and give it any name

4. Once it launches tap the screen to bring up the keyboard

5. Type su and press enter

4. If you are rooted, you will get a popup asking for permission. If you are not rooted, you will get a permission denied or file not found error.
