Root Think something went wrong while rooting?

Well I rooted successfully and all. I downloaded ROM manager and went to backup the current ROM. I noticed this while I was rooting but I was able to root while it was happening. The problem, is that I think the recovery image didn't install correctly or something. Because when I went to backup my ROM and it was rebooting into recovery, it went to an all black screen with two white lines on the side. So I can't see anything and am stuck.

EDIT:

I waited about 10 minutes before I posted and right after I posted the screen went black (think the phone turned off) and started up normally. Not sure if I correctly backed up my ROM or what?

A smarter person than myself will probably chime in soon, but I would download titanium backup and make a full backup too

Alright sounds good. Also wondering if I should avoid system updates after rooting? And how to over/under clock?

It could be possible...I'm not sure what that is or how to check for it though. And I searched on those forums and all I found was a bunch of threads with new kernel updates.
