Thinking about buying a tablet

Wife want an iPad but I have a Hero so want to stick with Android. Any thoughts on an android tablet to buy? Don't mind waiting for a bit but would like to get one before Christmas.

Personally I'd wait on purchasing a tablet. Lots of new tablets are in development but I suspect most of the really good ones won't hit the retailers till Q1 of 2011.

Yeah, was thinking that. I'd like one that can run v3.0 or one that you can at least upgrade to that.

The mainstream tablets that will, hopefully, be coming out late this year will likely be able to run Gingerbread. The tablets coming out early next year will almost definitely run Gingerbread.

Many of the current crop of Chinese knock-off tablets (like my Witstech A81-E) can barely run FroYo reliably. That said I still like my A81-E...

Yeah, reckon I'll keep an eye on what's coming out later this year and see if it'll be able to run gingerbread when it comes out.

In a somewhat round-about way I think it references many of the tablets expected to be released in the next 90 days or so.
