I've read some posts about people buying EVOs and finding out they were stolen.

I'm a noob, so what exactly does it mean to have a clean ESN and how do I check?

Also, what questions should I ask this man?

Call sprint and try to get it activated on your number. If they can't activated it, don't buy it.
