So, I am thinking about rooting my Epic mainly because I want the skipping keystrokes issue on the slide out keyboard fixed. So, what do I have to do after I root my Epic to fix that problem? Or is it already fixed when I root? Thanks.
So if I do the one click root, I can then just get the patch to fix the keyboard from XDA?This will let you root without a ROM: One Click Root
I do believe you need at least a new ROM or at least a rooted kernel for the keyboard fix.

Does the one click root improve the battery life at all? It does allow to get rid of the Sprint bloatware for sure right?Yes, should work fine.

By itself, no.
Yes, it will allow you to get rid of bloatware.
Now when I root my phone, will my apps/pictures/other files be deleted? Should I make any preparations before I root, so I don't lose anything?Okay so I tried to root my phone. Everything went well, I downloaded the one click root file and the drivers I would need. I installed the drivers, but when I plugged in my phone, my computer does not recognize my phone? Nothing comes up at all and yes usb debugging is on. Help please! It's safest to always back everything up.
The one click, if it works correctly, will not change any settings, delete any apps nor delete any pictures, etc.

Are you using the stock data cable that came with the phone?

Yes I am. I really have to buy a better USB cable? Why can't Samsung make the stock ones work?![]()
I have a question...if I root my phone and lets say Gingerbread comes out next week for it, will I have to unroot to get the update?
