Root Thinking about rooting, need help!

If I just do the one click root and flash no ROMs though, I will be fine to update my phone to Gingerbread from Sprint?

I believe so, cuz you'd still be using the stock EC05 firmware, just modified for root access. I have never actually tried it, but Im pretty sure you would get the update.... when getting the official OTA for gingerbread, you might lose the root access temporarily, until root is figured out by the developers ... its a minor inconvenience if that happens though, just re root after getting GB (There will likely be an updated root obtaining method/tweak).

I also just downloaded the wifi tether app to get free internet for my laptop!
I do have one question though: how do I move apps to my sd card now that I am rooted?

Don't. You should have enough space on the phone. If you don't, delete stock apps you don't need first like Sprint ID, SprintTV, etc. You can use Titanium Backup to do that. If you're an app-addict and still don't have enough space on your phone, only move apps that don't use widgets.
I figured out what to do...I installed both Titanium Backup (free version) and Bloat Freezer on my phone. I can use Titanium Backup for moving apps to my sd card and I can use Bloat Freezer to uninstall most of Sprint's bloatware!

Well there's some pretty nice custom kernels and ROM's out there... but honestly I'd wait till official GB hits and the developers build the new ROM's off of the official GB build.
Just a note if you do decide to venture in to the world of custom ROM's, make sure you read everything completely (just like you did with root) and double check compatibility with themes/kernels that you decide to use.

I still wouldn't move apps to phone unless you have almost no internal space on the phone. Granted, I'm a "light" user, but I have almost 47% free space still on my phone (55% free on sd card) and none of my apps were moved to sd. Apps that have widgets won't work properly if you move them and imo, the phone just works better and faster.
