Thinking of converting - Screen quality

Hi all!
I have an Archos 101 and after reading about the Gtab, i thought I made a bad choice (put in a preorder...) but then read some things about how staples pulled it and whatnot, LSS I wrote off the Gtab. But one of the guys over in the archos boards mentioned that not only was it rooted/ rom'ed but doing so made it super fast.
now my droid X is FAR from stock and so ive got no problems rooting it. Infact i hate that my Archos ISNT rooted
So the deciding factor here is really, how good is the screen??
I dislike the screen on the archos.
Its to wide, and its also got a terrible viewing angle. Its ok, but really in portrait, one eye sees it ok, the other is getting funky reversal stuff.

So the Gtab has 512mb ram, better proccessor, root / rom ability
if anyone has experience with both, and its at all better, i think i might get one and ebay my archos.
(is the gtab a different form factor too? The screen looks more ipad like than the archos 16x9'ish look)

To be honest, if your deciding factor is screen quality you won't see a difference between the gtab vs the archos. The screen resolution is also the same. The viewing angles are comparable.

However, if u were to jump to the gtab now you jump at the right time. The 3 custom roms available have been updated this week. You should check them out at the xda forums.
I think people don't realize how important the Tegra 2 CPU, 512mb RAM, and dev support really means to this tab compared to the other tabs that are available. I think it makes a huge difference when determining if this tab is a great device vs just another pre-honeycomb device.
 
Hmm makes a compelling argument, however, maybe Ill wait to see what Moto annouces at CES before jumping ship just yet.

Seems the 101 is a tad better for viewing angles, but the colors are less vivid. I view the dispaly straight ahead and slightly from above, so looks great.

Both the 101 and Gtablet have to be viewed in a slight angle when in portrait mode, since both get the "3D" effect.

Displays IMO are a net equal, so gTablet wins by a HUGE margin for modders and even non-modders now (based on current rom).

Flash alone performs so much better, there is no contest. Factor in everything else is so much faster and the audio quality is better too (from 3.5mm)- Archos 101 is second tier compared to the gTablet.

Let us not also forget that the 101 is probably a dead-end for upgrades due to 230mb of app storage and 256mb ram.

BTW, I would rather enjoy a sub $400 Tegra 2 tablet NOW, rather than wait MONTHS for tablets that will likely cost considerably more, or some other compromise.... and then have to wait even longer for a stable mod community for the device. gTablet already has it.
 
Well i found there was a store down the street from me with one in stock, so I picked one up - can sell whichever I dont like lol
I think the Archos might be on ebay soon...
its nice, but the dualcore + 512mb ram + custom rom = more gooder for me :)
 
Xoom looks good but:

1. No USB host (nice to connect 64gb thumbrives and USB hard drives)
2. Probably locked down like other Moto devices
3. Will have had at least five months of enjoyment with my Gtablet by the time this is released.
4. Total price will probably be at least $300 more, considering VZW pricing models, or required data plans.
