Thinking of leaving Sprint?

You are correct but Hubby doesn't text or use much data so he wouldn't need unlimited of those. Like I said I would technically be getting less but Hubby and my son don't use that much. I am the one that would still need unlimited everything except minutes. All of us combined use around 1200 minutes in total a month, and now I have a house phone so I'd use that to call the school, Dr's etc. Anyway, probably going to Virgin anyway cuz paying $170 a month for cell phones is killing me! ;)

Well tell him to get with the program! ;) JK JK

SO what plan would you get with Virgin?
$40 for yourself and $25 for you husband and $25 for your son?

I like ATTs new plans and their Data speeds are great... but their cell coverage is pretty spotty in my area. So I am probably going to switch the Virgin when my contract is up.... or I can find an exit.

Actually I would get the $40 plan for me, a pay-as-you-go for my son and Hubby has Nextel so I'd get him Boost, he can keep his phone. Even then my $170 bill would go down to $90 + my sons, probably $10 a month. :)

Thanks for all the responses folks. For those who cannot figure out why my bill is $245 per mth. I have a family plan (unlimited), EVO 4G, Samsung Instinct, plus the Sierra Aircard (unlimited-grandfathered). Do not have 4G in my area but pay for it anyway since we travel a lot to 4G areas. Am NOT rich. Love sprint but hate to keep paying so much for the service when my internet service is way below standard. My upload and d/l speeds are dial up. After talking to Sprint for days, they have said I am in the top 10 percent of there top customers (throughout the WORLD - I must be famous!!!) on my internet usage - Sprint is saying I used 100GB in one month alone????? I must have some gremlins somewhere in my laptop. I only use ONE laptop!! Do not see how I can use that much (only using Netflicks and NO KIDS at home)...they say my average is 40-50GB per month!!! What are your thoughts?? I want a credit for bad coverage and they say NO since I use so many GB's per momth that my internet is working more than it was designed for and I quote from a VP of Sprint "maybe we are not the right fit for you".....WHAT??? After 12+ yrs...now they tell me....SO....I am going to be forced to leave or continue with bad service!! I was using my EVO to tether with but afraid that Sprint would get mad??? Now I think why should I care!!!

Yikes! Thats awful. Why do you have an internet card and an EVO? You could use the EVO to tether or use the EVO as a hotspot. My internet with Sprint is pretty bad too. Its consistent, but consistently slow

ATT is the usually quickest, however their service is often spotty, and you are limited to 2GB. Starting tomorrow, they will offer any mobile anytime.

The Atrix looks pretty slick, $200 for the phone and $300 for the computer dock. For a second line, you can get the Iphone4... etc. Use Wifi at home, and if you can live under the 2GB cap, the price will be VERY competitive with Sprints family plan. While being much quicker(on 3G....usually)

With my corp discount, I calculated that 2 lines 700 mins+any mobile+rollover+2GB per line+Unlimited text with ATT would cost me $1.79 more than with Sprint.

Yes internet card and EVO - internet card is $60.00 mth plus tax...then ins. and intl.

He could have the unlimited family plan. $190 + $20 for the EVOs + the aircard. It's possible if he has the $150 family plan too with insurance on both phones and the aircard. I want to know how I'm paying $170 for 3 phones and my sister-in-law is on Verizon and paying $170 for 5 phones with the same services?! :P

Have the unlimited with Internet card at $60 per mth plus ins. and intl., 4G, plus plus plus......

40-50GB a month..
how much netflix do you use???
almost every night? a few shows and a movie or two? more on weekends?
do u use streaming music.. when you work too?

yeah..I can totally see that much data usage if you are on netflix a lot ...plus normal net usage.

How many GBs on 3G? I don't have the patience to do that much on 3G. 4G is another story, but even then I can't see streaming that much.

answer to both....only netflicks one-twice a week - no streaming of music - pandora every now and then and that is it?? work from home - have internet connected all day, but only surfing and answering emails!!!!

Wow, if you are using 40-50GBs per month, something is seriously wrong. Can you look at your plan to see which device is using that much data.

Mircosoft offers free antivirus, at onecare.live.com , You could also try spybot, from download.com

I'm very close to leaving now. I purchased the LG Optimus V.
Its got free hotspot 3g speed, unlimited text/data and 300 min voice, works with my iPad and only runs me $25 a month.

Gonna try it for a week b4 I cut the sprint cord.

Nice, are you under contract? Definately give me an update! I want to do the same. But I will probably head to the $40 plan.

Yep I'm under contract, but if you do the math I still come out on top over the year.
Sprint $80x 12 = $960
v mobile = 25 x 12 = $300 + $150 phone + $200 ETF = $650 = $310 savings
Not including sprint taxes :)

Heck I can buy a new vm phone every year and still come out on top.

Yeah, thats big savings. I would have to buy the $40 plan, but that would still be $30/month savings for me.

Here is the Sprint ETF fee chart. @9 months, its $150. Not too bad.

Holy sh**,I mean holy cow,40-50 GB a month, are you on the internet and downloading 24-7, something wrong somewhere or someone needs to get a job.

Any reason not to drop to the Everything Data Family Share plan? Do you really call landlines and/or roam that much?

I often hear VZW customers say how much they're not paying. I NEVER see a copy of a bill to confirm.

Yeah, lots of excuses about what they don't need or want, so it doesn't matter that Sprint lets you have it. To be fair though, Sprint has leveled the playing field a lot lately. However, multiple phones (especially when 4 or 5) is when the Sprint plans really come in to their own. No comparison.

Not really... Additional lines used to be awesome with Sprint... but not anymore. I was thinking about moving to the family plan when my GFs ATT Plan ended in June. (Probably would have added my Mom and Sister too)

Here is a additional line breakdown for someone that gets a 20% discount on Sprint or Verizon

Sprint Prior to Sept/2010
$20 Additional line
-$4 Corp Disc
$16 Total

Sprint After Jan/2011
$20 Additional line
$10 Premium Data(for a 3G phone)
$30 Total

Verizon on the Talk/Text plan
$10 additional line
$30 unlimited Data
-$6 Corp Discount on unlim data.
$34 Total

Yeah, Verizon costs more, but they make up for it. If you want a Dumbphone, the cost is only $10. On Sprint the additional line costs $20. My mom would only need a $10 line.

That's still a pretty significant difference when you are taking five lines into consideration. I am not sure how I pulled it off, but I actually have seven lines on one plan. :)
