third party batteries and CDMA

Hi

wondering if anyone can help me clear up 2 novice queries?

1) Been doing a search for extended and/or additional batteries for the SGS2. There is a huge discrepancy between the prices of official samsung batteries and other various 3rd party products. But the opinions seem differed on the use. Obviously there is a marketing side to the story, but can using a 3rd party battery actually harm your phone? or is the worst case scenario just a battery that fails to work. The majority opinion seems to be that a 3rd party product from a reasonably reputable company is sufficient. Any thoughts?

2) Does the SGS2 international version i9100 not work on CDMA networks?

Thanks

As for your second question. No, the i9100 works only on GSM/HSPA networks. In the U.S. that means AT&T (2G, 3G and 3.5G) and T-Mobile (2G only).

It won't work on Verizon or Sprint.
