If verizon, att, etc decide to end unlimited plans, then we'll just have to wait for a new company to introduce one for those who need them. Then this new company can grow and verizon , att can fade into oblivion as far as im concerned because of their greedyness.
A lot of people now are saying "oh we don't need more than 15 MBs per month" but this is because were just getting our hands on these new superphones, and only the beginning of possibilities with the internet and apps.
As higher speed networks become the norm, people may find themselves streaming more content (music, video), maybe downloading bigger apps (the newest swype is 30 MBs compared to the previous being 3MBs), and involved in more hi def video/photo sharing. Not to mention tethering possibly replacing home networks.
So it may not be that big of a deal today but it will in a couple of years.
What's the big problem anyways, a couple of times during the day when the network becomes congested but then speeds up after a little bit. I'd rather deal with that and have my unlimited plan than to pay almost the same price for 2 gbs (att) then 10 bucks for each additional MB. This is old landline phone company mentality and hopefully verizon steers clear of it or it may come back and bite them in the *ss .
Thanks for letting me vent, i normally don't post such angry b.s. but as the O.P. said this is a real bummer.
