This Maybe Why we havent heard anything

Makes sense, I'd be pissed if this happens to me. If it's hardware, this this will take forever...

If it were a hardware issue with the volume rocker, testing would have found it months ago. I'm quite convinced that this can be fixed with an OTA. The delay may be in creating a fix that doesn't negatively affect something ELSE.

But yeah, I'll wait a week or two to get a phone that actually WORKS :)

I am almost certain it is software related. There have been thousands of phones sold and not all of them are displaying the volume behavior. I read somewhere that a uses's volume issues were rectified by installing a widget.

This only occurs on 2G networks. This is not the reason.

Yup, it's related to the GSM/HSPA+ radio when it's only receiving a 2G signal. Verizon's CDMA/LTE model shouldn't be affected by this bug.

Whatever bugs there are, if they're not interfering with the core uses of the phone, then they should just release it and fix the bug OTA when it's ready. There's always going to be bugs in software regardless of where the product is at in its life cycle. I think Verizon is just using the "bug" excuse to delay the phone and promote the RAZR longer. Seems they don't care much for the Rezound since they didn't even announce its release date until it was actually released. It seems like they're going to do the same with the Nexus since it's not a "Droid" phone. I wouldn't be surprised if there's not even a pre-order window beforehand even though this is the most anticipated phone of the year.

Id have to disagree with you interms of the Rezound I have seen more ads and commericals for this one phone then any other phone on any carrier, ive seen about half for the razor.

Yeah, now that it's out. Did you see any promotions/commercials whatsoever before the Rezound launched (like we did for the RAZR)? That was my point.
