Root This so overwhelms me!!

Ok I've got my nook autonootered-stock.

I'm extreemely happy with it, but I want flash.

What is the easiest thing to do?

It took me weeks to talk myself into autonooter...so this just makes me nervous.

Is having flash even worth messing with it? I know you all think it would be, b/c this stuff is easy to you. To me, after the 3rd or 4th post I read about having to do this & do that and ROM manager, and flashing, and stuff I have no idea what to do.

Anybody out there nice enough to help me step by step? I've read tons of threads...and I just don't get it... I'm sorry :(

Thank you :)

Ok, well that went over like a lead brick...

Can someone at least tell me what the easiest way to get Flash is?

If I load a custom ROM will that do it? like phiremod?

Thanks :)

I really like theUNLOCKR videos...that I can follow and is how I did the autonooter.

I watched their one on how to load a custom ROM, and am pretty sure I can handle that....

yes I've read it several times, but until I watched the unlockr video I didn't feel like I was in anyway capable.
Thank you colchiro for posting it, can you tell me though if it's for 1.1? and I'll be able to use Adobe Flash?
I'm just scared that I'll jack something up and won't be able to get back!
I'm going to go today and get a 2gb sd card so I can make the stock back up like you say to, and then I guess I'll bite the bullet...

yes!! I watched that, and that's what kinda made me think I could handle loading phiremod...

I'd really like to have flash, so I might jump in soon!!

Thanks for your help! :)

between that & your guide I think I might be ok lol :)

I didn't get a chance to get an extra sd card today, so I don't think I'll try it tonight....
We're getting some crazy storms all around anyway, my luck I'd lose power just as I was getting somewhere!

Your battery will last hours on your NC. Just make sure it's fully charged before you start. Then you only have to worry about the lights and computer staying on until you're done. :D

The Sandisk micro sd cards seem to be faster so you might look for one of those. I'd recommend a cheap 2gb to use as a bootable repair disk and a 8 gb for normal, daily use (backups, etc.) that stays in your NC with use.

I have a 16gb that I leave in my nook, for music & files. I used it to root before it had anything on it, then formatted it and loaded my stuff on it. I've copied all the files on it over to my computer, do I need to remove it before I do all this??

So I think that means all I need in addition to this is the 2gb for the repair disk, correct?

Thanks again!

If you have stuff on the 16 gb that you want to keep, then use the 2 gb for installing. (Make a bootable CWR disk out of it.) Nice thing about that... if you ever have a problem with not booting into your NC, you already have a disk with your rom on it, ready to repair it. :D

and then after I do all that & my nook is booted back up with the new ROM, I can put my 16gb back in and use it like before correct?? :)

Sheesh you are gonna hate me after all this, I know you didn't take me raise... ha....

I hate a lot of people, what's one more? :D

Darlin', 'eh? :p

I meant to follow the second set of directions for "not rooted", where you create a 2gb CWR disk with your rom on it and save that for a repair disk.

LOL yeah I call lot's of people Darlin' ....

Ok I think I got that... :)

I'll let you know how it goes, probably going to give it a try sometime over the weekend!
