Those buying the TB: (possible purchase discount)

I just got back from getting my Thunderbolt at 9am this morning and doing a few errands after. I walked in and all the employees were wearing their black Thunderbolt shirts and there were 2 other people there to get it at store opening.

I went with 1 year for $319.99. The rep tried to get me to purchase a case, screen protector, car charger, and window/dash vehicle mount for the phone but I refused even when he said if I spent $50 I could get 25% off.

During checkout he said, "I'll tell you what, I'll give you the $50 discount on your phone and you can get 3 items of your choice". So I was only charged $269.99 and got the vehicle mount ($29.99), car charger ($29.99), and 3 pack of screen protectors ($12.99). He even gave me the discount for these 3 so I paid $22.49, $22.49, and $9.74. My grand total for 1 year and these 3 accessories was $355.56 with tax (instead of $425ish).

Just thought you all may want to ask about this "discount" and see if you can get it too. I'm not sure what the discount was even for but worth a shot.

PS - this phone is sweet. Haven't been able to put it down all morning

Still sounds like a rip off to me. You can get all of these accessories for pennies on ebay and they are every bit as good as the rip off junk they sell in the stores.

I was still listed on Verizon's system as employed by Honeywell when I bought my accessories at 35% off. The next day I updated to reflect my current employer. My accessory discount dropped from 35% to 25% BUT, my service discounts went from 19% to 25% for voice and 18% for data. Talk about great timing!

No the phone was $319.99 so he basically gave me the accessories for free. If I didn't get the accessories he was going to charge $319.99 instead of $269.99 so why not take accessories for the same price.

I got $50 off due to my corp discount. I got the screen protector at 25% off too.

I'm just a college student so I'm not sure why I would have gotten the discount. I'm the account holder so it's not like my parents got it for me or something. I asked if I could just have the phone for $269 but he said no so I it was either $319 for the phone or $319 for phone & accessories. Tough choice...
