Thought on CM7 - is it buggy?

So for those running CM7 the latest version, how is it really? Is it really buggy? I was going to wait for ICS, but that sounds too far out and there are almost no apps for WebOS.

What are some of the major issues with CM7? Does the market (both google and Amazon) work wit it? Does it seem zippy? Wifi work well?

Thanks for the replies!
Jason

I don't have any issues with Google Market, WiFi or Amazon. I never use WebOS anymore and I am completely satisfied with the Alpha builds of CM7.

I cannot wait for ICS it will be incredible!!!

Same here...no issues....do it and you won't regret it. Plus, if you don't like it just boot into webos

Buggy? No!

Totally and completely rock solid? Also no!

As with all pre-release software CM7.1 A3.6 has it's share of quirks. I suspect, however, that when CM9 is finally released to the public it'll also have issues that will take time for the developers to correct.

Personally if I had a choice between using CM7 and WebOS (which, come to think of it, I did! :D), I'd choose CM7 every time!

In terms of functionality CM7 blows webos out of the water. Just the ability to use android apps on the TP is enough to make the switch. Its still a bit buggy but it ls more then tolerable. My big issue is that I have to turn airplane mode on before I turn on wifi to get wifi to work, not a big deal in my book.

Bear in mind that CM7 installs as dual boot so you can boot into either one (although most people don't need webOS after installing CM7).

There is a webOS app that will mod your boot menu to make webOS the default OR change the countdown time before it defaults to CM7. But it requires preware so is a little involved to install.

I am pretty impressed, its a bit buggy, but overall a pretty nice experience. I was able to get all my market apps install and also got the Amazon app store installed and pulled down some of the Free Apps of the day I had racked up on my HTC EVO. The launcher is a bit confusing at 1st but its just a learning curve like anything else. The wifi for me seems to be very stable, no complaints there. I miss having HTC Sense as I am used to it on my EVO but that's not fault of this ROM. Overall its well worth the upgrade and I do not see myself booting in WebOS anymore.

Thanks to everyone for the help!

Jason

Its not completely stable but ready for daily use. I've seen OEM roms much worse. Most touchpad issues now are hardware/driver related and can be fixed with a reboot.

The lack of camera access is my biggest remaining complaint, but it's not that big a deal. There've only been a couple times I wanted to use the camera in Android.

I'd have to say everything works great! Just got mine from woot, rooted and flashed cm7. I didn't want this tablet for webOS. I've got all my core apps working just fine. Market, Amazon market, camera, Skype, games, keyboards, google apps, email. I don't see any real reason not to just jump in the pool.

Cm9, is another story...
