Thoughts on Samsung Galaxy S3?

Tomorrow is the big launch date.

Samsung Galaxy S2

Fingers crossed that the spec will be worth me updating to S3.

However Like Apple Samsung say the new S3 will be evolutionary not revolutionary as in apples 4s not 5.

Will you be updating ?

I was going to upgrade until I saw the spec, bit disappointed tbh. Same GPU as the S2 just overclocked. I'll probably wait for something better.
I was hoping for the Quad core cortex a15 and mali 604 :) that would have been a beast.

I think I'm going to pass for now buying SG3 as I'm waiting to see from other people what was their experience, still GS2 is not that outdated.

If I did not already own a Galaxy S2 I would definitely buy the S3.

From what I've seen the evolution to the S3 is good. However, having only recently upgraded to ICS on my S2 I am more than happy with what I've got.

It's a superb upgrade but I'm only eight months into a two year contract, don't really want to put down more money for a phone that I'll probably use in the same way as the one I've got now!

S3 have generally wonderful specs. Although had hoped it would be using Super Amoled PLUS screen. Just for the heck of it since I doubt you could really detect the difference unless you zoom until you can't really see much else.

It definitely beats HTC One X. Not because of the specs, but because it has expandable memory as well as replaceable battery.

Still, have a 2 year contract, and the upgrades found on S3 is not enough for me to pay the penalty to get it. For those who don't have S2, well S3 is a great option.

It didn't float my boat really. Thought I'd go for it but now feel I'll just keep the s2 until the end of the year and see what comes up around that time. Next phone may well be a HTC as Sammy seem less that keen to get sources out in regards to helping devs.

its amazing for

S1 owners.

for S2 owners its small upgrades and mostly UI upgrades.

i want one but ill wait see what S4 brings as i got 1year left on contract anyway :)

love the svoice (iphone style) hope in S2 gets software upgrade for this

maybe its possblie now ? dunno... anyone know about that

I've only just got an S2 on a 2 year contract and im very happy with it, I dont regret not waiting for the S3 at all. To be fair the S3 doesnt seem that huge a leap forward, and the 4.8" screen makes the device too big to work with my Gametel pad.

In 2 years I reckon the S4 or even S5 will be out and will be worth the upgrade.

I would love to get the S3. For what I have seen on Youtube it looks great with some cool upgrades. But still pretty new into my contract with my S2 and cant wait to up grade to ICS

I love my S2, but I *do* have a couple quibbles with the design:

Answering an incoming call: with my hands full and after digging for my phone, it's a pain to have to catch the stupid little red window and pull it across the screen in order to answer the call. I want to just push a button to answer it.

Getting back to "home": most of the time, pressing the Home Key is all that's needed, but sometimes it's not. Then you have to keep pushing the back arrow.

Security: if you set a PIN or password for access, it requires you to use it every time the screen times out. I'd like to have one PIN for when I first turn it on, then another (that I can set separately) for when it's simply asleep due to inactivity. I've ended up using NO security because it's a pain to use this every time the phone goes to sleep.

Keypad: a pain to use. I often get the wrong characters, but more irritating is having to flip back and forth between the letters keyboard and the numbers/symbols/punctuation keyboard. A big time waster!

I did download the PDF user guide but haven't found it particularly useful.

You can easily set up your phone and push the home button to answer calls (look in your phone settings)

As for the keyboard, swiftkey is the best/easiest keyboard I have used. Word prediction is amazing.

As for the Galaxy S3..want it...getting it!
