Root Three second delay?

bishy

Newbie
Hi All,

Am thinking of flashing to the latest Gingervillian (1.7?) and wondered two things......first, has the 3 second delay on answering been fixed? Some other forums say it is evident on ALL 2.3 roms, others say it does not exist anymore. Secondly can any of you more experienced guys tell me if there are any other problems with this rom? Thirdly (out of two !!!!!!!) is it better to move the Dalvik cache onto the SD card, or leave it where it is when flashed?

Thanks to everyone for any help with these little things.

1) the 1.5-2 second delay is on all 2.3 roms. Theres an app called "Call delay patch" on the market that some say helps

2) I dont have any issues, some others complain about wifi issues but not me

3) I cant think of any reason to leave it on internal... No performance benefit I believe (Hadron may have better answers to that) but space is a reason to move it to SD.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the replies and help........Do you think that the time delay will be fixed in the future or will it be a permanent feature?

One last question, if I stick with Leedroid and put on launcher pro plus will there be any performance bonus and how will I stop sense from running needlessly in the background?

Thanks Dan for all your help past and present, someone with your knowledge and patience is a rare thing these days.

Thanks again.

Not sure about the delay. Its not a big deal. Sometimes its there, sometimes not. Worst case scenario, you have to say "hello" twice. I dont really notice it tbh. I dont even know if I have it.

LPP, no performance bonus but much better looking. Best you can do is set sense as a blank scene so widgets on sense arent running. Thats it really.

Thanks for the kind words ;)

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the fast reply. I think I'll give Gingervillian a try, after all I can just Nandroid back if the delay becomes a problem.

Thanks again for the help.

Best of luck.

Please ensure you read post 1 of teh XDA GV thread. Information there about a2sd+ that you will need to know.

Hi Dan,

The Google employee following up on the call delay issue, in the Google support forums, is asking people to fill out the following form, to gather information about how people are affected and on what devices.

We shouldn't even be using Gingerbread yet, let alone be complaining to Google about bugs ;)
