Help Thunderbolt 4G question

Hi I just had a quick question about the Thunderbolt and it's 4G coverage. I just got one today, and it doesn't show that I have 4G, instead it shows 3G. I was just wondering if I had to pay extra for the 4G data plan or maybe I had it already and just didn't know how to turn it on (if that's possible). If it helps - I'm right near a 4G location. Sorry for the silly questions, thanks for the help.

No question is silly. Im a nub at this phone stuff but ur phone should automaticaly receve 4g. Nuthn u hav to turn on. The data plan is all the same. If ur phone can hav 4g it will at no extra cost. Ur probably just not geting the 4g signal in ur area

If u get 4g signal it will say on the top 4g LTE othrwise it will say
3g

Yea I'm in the same boat. I'm in a 4g city but I don't get the signal in my area.
