Thunderbolt and the Evo Screen Capture Method

I have been trying to find out whether the HTC Thunderbolt can replicate the HTC Evo screen capture method?

I have found NUMEROUS articles and videos of users slightly pressing the power button (not quite sure how to do this) and hitting the home button on the phone to trigger a screen capture on the Evo.

Question is, has anyone got this to work on a thunderbolt?

What about all this stuff saying that in 2.3.4, the screen capture functionality was opened up??

Any news greatly appreciated!:D

sounds like a custom ROM thing to me. native screen capture has been available in ROM for a month or 2. as for non root methods, you are going to need an app for that.

Gingerbread opened up the possibility for screen caps without root access, but didn't include it natively.
check this thread as there are a few listed in the first 10 posts that should still work.

This feature is also included in Ice Cream Sandwich. See here.

As tiny and stupid a feature as it may seem, it's the feature from my iPhone I miss the most.

I also assume that this is currently enabled in some custom ROMs, yes?
