Help Thunderbolt connected to Network Extender, Not working right

So in my office at work we get hardly any cell service no matter who we have, Verizon, att, tmobile, etc.... if you step outside my office you get some verizon, enough to make phone calls/texts. I bought the verizon SCS-26UC4 Network extender and installed in my office, works great with HTC inc and iPhones that we all have BUT one guy has the Thunderbolt and it is killing his phone service, it connects, then disconnects, bars are all over when making calls and sometimes when he gets a call he either can't hear the person, they can't hear him, or the call just drops. It is only the Thunderbolt that does this and the only 4G phone in the area. Could this be that the phone is not supported by that extender? it is the previous extender from what I am reading. Is it also possible if anyone knows, to make sure he NEVER connects to my extender, He doesn't need it but yet once he is in its range, it forces him to be on it which is stupid. Anyone use one or have a clue about what the issue could be? Thanks in advance

I have the 1x Samsung extender, not the latest model that offers CDMA. My Thunderbolt has always worked without issue on it. I will offer a couple of tips.

1. You can prioritize which phone numbers / phone can connect. (I haven't tried but you may even be able to exclude)
2. My wife had a Droid 2 that dropped calls all the time on our extender. Her certified like new device never dropped calls.
3. If you want it to work effectively make sure that QoS is configured to allow the extenders IP address priority on the network. If I was uploading a video to youtube then my wife could hear but not speak. The reason was that I choked the upload with my video. Her voice data wouldn't make it out to the person on the other end. If this is in your office then you may need to contact your Network Admin, if he's worth halfa loaf of bread then he should know what QoS is ;-) He'll be worth a full loaf if he can properly configure it the first time, 3/4 of a loaf if he has to go back a 2nd or 3rd time.

thank you

I have added some priorities in the management page online but that does not "exclude" people from connecting, It only prioritizes incase a bunch of people are connected AND on an actual call. Maybe if I add him, then he will now be a priority, maybe he is getting bumped by others.

I work in the I.T. department and am great friends with the network admin so I will BS with him in the morning and see what we can do and test.

just to confirm, you have the scs-26uc4 model and not the scs-2u01, correct? I believe the 1x is the 26uc4 which is what I have, the 01 I believe is the latest.

Thanks again

The thunderbolt has 2 radios, CDMA and LTE. The CDMA radio would be what is connecting to this extender, by default the LTE radio will override the CDMA radio if it has even the weakest signal. Normally the 3g people in 4g areas gets is from the LTE radio. He will likely get better results if he were to turn off the LTE radio. I don't remember if the stock rom allows this in the settings menu but if it doesn't he should try downloading the "LTE on/off" app and changing network mode to cdma/evdo auto or whatever is closest to that (I'm running a custom rom so my settings may look different for the same thing). Once he turns off the LTE radio the CDMA radio should be able to connect to the 1x signal the extender is putting out, at least that should work in theory.

settings> wireless & networks> mobile networks. there's an option there to set as cdma/lte or just cdma only.

I knew it wasn't in the settings when I was stock last but there has been an update since then

Just to toss mine on there, I'm using the 2U01 model myself at home, and have had no issues (other than my ISP deciding to use the storm that DIDN'T hit us, as an excuse to not fix my internet outage). However, my phone is also set to CDMA only in the settings. I'm nowhere near a 4G area, so I never switched it. If I get my net back up and running, I'll try to switch my phone to CDMA/LTE and see if it changes, but it's worked flawlessly on my 2U01 as it is now.
