For the better this delay, since now people can consider at least the Stealth as well. If it has 16gb internal and a dual core, I will probably get the Stealth. 4.3" amoled with the new tech that fixes the resolution issue of current amoled seems too good to pass up.

I really like the amoled on the Inc, but prefer the real resolution of LCD. Amoled plus has both :)

That said, I am beginning to wonder if it does have the dual core..... If it does, why did Sammy put a Tegra 2 in the new Galaxy Tab????

Like everthing about the TB, folks take one piece of information and create what they want from it.

Once again, get ten folks in a row and start with "red bike" and pass along. The end of the line the "red bike" is "Thunderbolt is launching on March 10th!".

The funny part was that @VerizonWireless tweeted something along the lines of "Using an AT&T iPhone is like killing kittens." They deleted it and apologized, but wow!

That's just proof that the social media marketing people aren't always in touch with what's going on at the company. Think about it; huge corporations hire people to sit around all day and put stuff on twitter, facebook, etc. These folks aren't great scholars or big wigs in the company. They fill space until someone hands them a real announcement (aka Press Release). They're just like the kids that read the morning announcements for the principal.

Why would folks assume this is about the TB?

So we take a VZW generic tweet that seems to be about JD power and BGR tweet and it equals "TB is launching March 10th?"

The Chief Funny Officer of VZW already said it is coming, but no sign that soon. You would think he would at least hint.

I expect later in the month now, since nothing yet suggests otherwise.

BTW, HighHand is correct in his observation.
 
Well - the kitten killing thing is now viral, and will likely not die anytime soon.

And it's not coincidental that it was on the heels of Consumer Reports slamming the VZW iP4 - so now CR's report is moot due to the kitten thing and the takedown and apology, with a planted story to CNN courtesy of Anandtech, extricate them from liability with ATT or Apple.

So what's going to be remembered and passed by word of mouth?


  • That the dB chart is still showing more than a factor of two in power loss normally holding a smartphone?
  • That the dB chart is missing a normative reference?
  • That either Consumer Reports or Anandtech or both have their test methodologies in error?
  • That getting an ATT iPhone is like killing a kitten?

Pretty good strategy for kids in the principal's office - maybe they're in the gifted program. ;)

And, while I often don't buy the genius behind Boy Genius - I'd be surprised that his big announcement for today is that JD Powers likes Big Red for call quality.

In any case - it's in 3 minutes...

This is the problem with how VZW handles launches. There is a dearth of information and the only crumbs we get are from their Twitter/Facebook feeds. So people break our their "Jump to Conclusions Mat" and start guessing when things will happen.

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised to see a real announcement (i.e. Press Release) today or tomorrow with the release date... or not.
 
I mean, really, they have to break their silence soon. Well, of course, they're "Big Red" and they don't HAVE to do anything. But I can only imagine what it's like for CS and reps right now. With the advertisements, I'm sure they're getting bombarded by people outside of our "world." (Our world being the world of people who know more than most VZW employees. :D)
 
Woohoo BBM! :rolleyes: I would have been way more excited about that back when I first switched from BB to Android and was the one feature (aside from awesome battery life) that I missed. But I'm sure a lot of people will think it's great.

ETA: Awesome TB ad underneath the article, though. :D
 
The big announcement will be that the Thunderbolt will be out soon. More of the same speculation. Over and over.

Speaking of ads, I am now seeing them again online, in a lot of places. I haven't seen one in a really long time. Plus it was nice seeing the HTC "You" Thunderbolt ads on TV last night, I caught them about 4 times on CBS.

So, hopefully it's coming soon!

This 11am announcement, did VZ say they were announcing something at 11am, or was that just from that B or J character?
