Help Thunderbolt Screen Won't Work with Aftermarket Charger

I just picked up an aftermarket charger for my TB, and when it's charging my phone, the screen stops responding to any input. The capacitive buttons don't work either - has anyone else seen this?

The stock charger let's me do whatever I want while it's plugged in, so it seems pretty clear that it's the aftermarket charger. Just curious if anyone's found the same issue or a way around it.

Not real sure why it would do that, but I can say one thing for sure.

I would stop using that charger immediately. No telling what it is actually doing to your phone or if it's causing any harm.
 
Sounds like a grounding issue to me, I would stay away from that charger.. The DINC had a similar problem where the screen would be flaky if not grounded.

As I stated in this thread, same thing happens to me, but I don't have the problem with my cable, it's my power port. If I have the phone laying flat on my desk, it won't work for shit. If I lift it up so I'm holding it, it's a bit better. If I hold the plug in the phone in a certain direction, it works fine. Makes no sense, but I've tried it on a couple of USB cables and it's still occurring.
 
Interesting stuff! I definitely decided right before I posted here that it wasn't worth using unless someone knew some odd configuration change that would make it work. The chances were slim to none, but worth a shot... :-)

I bought it so that I can recharge while I'm at work, since the VZW bloat tanks it sometimes. I think I'll just order one straight from HTC - worth the extra price to make sure I don't bork my phone!
 
I'm still not entirely sure it's the cable. A Micro USB cable is a Micro USB cable. They don't do anything different to them at HTC.

Have you tried any of the weird "Work arounds" that I said? Holding it in a different position/etc? What if you plug the cable into your computer's USB port? Same issue?
