Help Thunderbolt won't charge?

Lurker
I just brought home a new Thunderbolt and plugged the USB cable into the generic USB charger and plugged it into the wall...and nothing happened.

I'm able to use my Thunderbolt USB charger to charge an iPhone.

I'm able to plug my Thunderbolt into my computer via USB cable (it detects an unknown device).

But plugging the phone into the cable into the charger into the wall...no indication that it's charging.

Any ideas?

Is it just that the LED is out? Im assuming thats a stupid question, but if you havent checked your battery status when its plugged in, it might be charging and just not turning the LED on to notify you of its status.

This is my first time trying to charge the phone. I tried taking out the battery and putting it back in. After I put it back in I start up the phone and am greeted by a "plug in charger" message with a low battery display. I plug in the charger and the message does not go away, which I assume it would if it recognized the charger.

Ya, thats really odd. I havent heard anyone else having that issue...Might be as simple as you may have a lemon...Which is pretty lame

Well, I went to the BB store, they gave me a random USB to phone cable and it charges fine. I guess it's good that it wasn't an issue with the phone itself...
