Help Thunderbolt won't sync with contacts!

hey all. so i have facebook for htc sense. & i've been trying to sync my contacts in my phone to facebook. but it doesn't work! it will only sync a few people. is there a reason for this?

One thought... Check to see how you're "viewing" people.

People -> Menu -> View

Make sure "Only with phone number" isn't checked.

That was my issue when I had a FB account...

To me your question is a little ambiguous. It reads like you want to take your phone contacts and sync them to FB. If thats the case I would assume there is probably a link within FB to sync your gmail account to FB. Then it would find the people in your gmail that have FB and sync them.

But, if what you are asking is how to sync your FB contacts to your gmail account follow what Buddha said.

I only have gmail because I had to create an account at the verizon store when I got this phone. I don't have any contracts on there. I just want my phone contacts to sync. & yeah, I made sure it wasn't "only with phone number", & it still doesn't work but like I said earlier, it still synced a couple people in my contacts. Does it maybe have to do with if the person I'm trying to sync their facebook to, have to have their number posted on facebook publicly for it to link up right?

the names in your contact list have to match exactly (or close) to how their names appear on Facebook.

you can manuall do it...i am on Cyanogen, so let me see if i can do this from memory

open up the "people app"
find a contact you want to link to a facebook person. click on their name.
in the upper right corner you will see a funky looking icon, it is supposed to be chains linked together.
tap on it.
you should then see something about facebook
click on that, and it will bring in all your FB contacts,
find the person you want to link it to, and they should be linked.

the easiest way is to go into your contacts list and get rid of nick names, and just use their real names. within an hour, Sense will notify you of a bunch of linked contacts.
select the notification
menu
link all
check to make sure the correct ones are linked
hit OK, and you are all set.
