I really cant remember!!! I dont want to put it forward an hour then find it has also gone forward by itself as I need to set my alarm for the morning but want to get it right!!!!

It should be, if it is set to ' automatic' in Settings > Time & Date, and you have a signal at home.
Edit: Just noticed that you need to set your alarm. The only thing I can suggest if you really want to make sure is either set your alarm for 3am then you can make sure it's right and go back to sleep, or set it an hour early and take a chance that you'll be woken up an hour early if the change happens. If it doesn't then you'll just be woken up on time.
Edit 2: Or, put it in airplane mode, set Time & Date to 'manual' overnight then you can be sure the alarm will go off. When you're up, set it back to manual and take the phone out of airplane mode.

Time and date set to automatic. Updated itself with no problems. Can't help but wonder if the iPhone did the same ;)

I've seen iPhone users on an F1 forum complaining their alarm didn't go off this morning for the early get up to watch the Aussie GP this morning.

My Desire changed time automatically any alarm went off OK. Still, because I'm not an iPhone user I had the common sense to set a back-up alarm as it is the first time change since I had my Desire - a back-up I didn't need in the end. :D

My phone went ahead one hour exactly after it was 12 PM :)

iOS programmers are lazy.

If you have the time set to automatically update it uses the time provided by the network so there's no need to update it manually.

Not lazy, just stupid.

The iOS implementation is more complex than simply using the network-provided time but it doesn't work properly! Fail :D

My Desire changed to BST on it's own. I have a 2nd Gen iPod Touch that I assumed would not update, so I put it forward an hour. Evidently, the iPod then put itself forward a further hour during the night, meaning it woke me up an hour earlier than it needed to at 04:30 this morning.

Stupid thing! Damned if you do, damned if you don't. How very 'Apple'.

That suggests Android programmers are lazy too as the clocks officially change at 2am ;)

I set mine to manual to be on the safe side however when I turned my phone back on after flying north it'd gone forward another hour

My Galaxy S2 changed fine, however the wife's Galaxy Tab 10.1 didn't. Manually set time next day. She is know complaining that sync'd calendar entries are an hour early. Had to change Time Zone to correct. Doesn't seem to be an option to use "Network Time" on the tablet - unless someone knows better ?

The alarm clock on the phone knew it was going to change. I had to set an early morning alarm on Sunday, and the "alarm set for x hours and y minutes from now" message took the time change into account, i.e. elapsed time was 1 hour less than what the raw numbers would suggest.

I did a little testing and found that it produced identical messages if I set the alarm for 1am and 2am - correct behaviour, as these would actually be the same time that night. :)
