Hello all,

Have been lurking around these forums for some time now, so I figured I would ask for advice since I haven

My friends who are diehard iPhone users who switched to the Galaxy S2 just love them to death. I too use iPhone but Android is my preferred platform. Something to consider.

If you think it's possible that your city is getting LTE in the next 2 years, I'd get the skyrocket. It's the same thing as the GS2, but you will have LTE if it comes to your area. If LTE isn't coming any time soon or you think you can deal without it, then you probably could save a few bucks and get the non-LTE version.

Oh, and I would most definitely wouldn't switch to VZW from AT&T. I believe VZW is more expensive and you wouldn't get unlimited data. The GNex is supposed to be coming to other carriers, so if you're heart set on it, it'll come. But I think the SGS2 would be more than enough to tide you over until your contract ends.

Thanks for the replies guys!

From what my local AT&T told me, we should be getting LTE in roughly a year and a half or so. A few nearby cities that I travel to quite frequently already do have it. Any thoughts on when ICS will come to the GS2? Seeming like it may be a while so that they can make money off of the Nexus I'm guessing.

Any other thoughts comments? Better to pull the trigger now on a GS2-SR?

Samsung has a pitiful record when it comes to timely updates, so I wouldn't base my decision on ICS at all. The SG1 based Epic4G finally got 2.3 a week ago, 6 months after the HTC Evo4G. Still, I'm very impressed with the (non cdma) SG2's and would probably choose it over the new Nexus at this point.
