Help Time for a new battery?

I've had my phone plugged in for 2 hours and off, and its only charged to 26% after being rebooted. Its still on the charger as I'm typing this out and the battery life is dropping steadily instead of rising. The battery has been hot for 2 days now even when off the charger. Currently I'm getting a temp reading of 40

boot into recovery and wipe battery stats.its in advanced also make sure to turn off 4g data when not in use.

I still have my original that came with the phone but it never lasts more than 4-5 hours on a full charge/it is my emergency backup battery(If my extended every fails to last 20+ hours)
