Root time to root...

hi!!

i am a new owner of a never activiated samsung fascinate...

and like my D1...its time to root...

i've done some minor read on the root process for the fascinate...doesnt seem to different from the D1.

but can some explain (in lame-mans terms)...what lag, the lasfix fixes?

1. you need to use odin to install clockwork recovery

2. the stock kernel lags, custom kernels take care of this...but please read up on voodoo lagfix kernels before jumping in blindly.

will do...thanks for the advice!!

can i go through the root process, keep the stock kernel, then flash clockworks and/or other kernels?

or should i do it all at once?

Its best to not overwhelm yourself and take it one step at a time

1. Download and install the correct samsung drivers on your computer

2. Download the root files....extract them...root

3. Download odin and all necessary files for clockwork recovery and restoring your phone....,cwr file....stock recovery....system...,pit...and kernel

4 use odin to push cwr...then flash clockwork recovery in rom manager

5. Boot into cwr and make a nandroid backup

6. Take a step back relax and then start reading up on the available roms/kernels and upgrade.

7. Profit.
