Help Time Without Signal - 99%

I'm never one to complain about battery. If you use the phone, expect it to use the battery.

However, I just got the Revolution a few days ago. I charged it to 100% the other night, and left it off the charger. In 7 hours, without any use at all, the battery was just over 20%. Without any use at all.

I checked battery use, and it had "Time Without Signal" at 99%. But it had signal that whole time. Four out of five bars.

I know this was an issue with some other phones previously (I searched a lot), but found no one reporting the problem on the Revolution.

I've tried the airplane mode trick, with no results. I also tried the *# trick, but when I try to go into the Phone menu, I get a FC.

Does no one else have this issue? Any fixes?
 
I never heard of this one. Other than a battery pull or factory reset, I'd be tempted to think yours is defective.
 
Has anyone else seen this? I'm kind of desperate here... By the end of the day, my battery is dead, and I've barely turned on the screen.
 
There was a similar problem with DX. It read 50% ALWAYS. Didn't matter what the signal was. I got them to swap me one out and same thing on the new one. I think it was a software glitch.
 
I had to go and buy the extended life battery. It worked fairly well, but I would be at about 25% by the end of the day with average use. On accident, I charged my phone with the phone off at night. Now I can go through a day with average use and still have anywhere from 70 to 80% left. Not sure why it works, but it does for me. As for the Time without Signal, I still get that as well. It varies from 5% to 95% and changes during the day.
 
I have never seen "time without signal" but my phone started out with much worse battery life in the beginning. It was as if I had to charge and discharge the battery several times to get better battery life. I always get 12-16 hours of battery life with the stock battery. I also bought the desktop dock that comes with an extra battery so if my phone dies I can just pop that baby in and get another 12 hours. I always see "Android System" in battery usage, with occasional apps taking a tiny percentage.

Update: When Verizon turned 4G on in my area, my battery life is sucking horribly again. Think I got 6 hours today, pretty heavy use.

Yeah, the standard/extended battery charges faster with the Revo off.

It makes sense...The phone is drawing power from the battery while the battery is sipping a charge from the USB connection.
