Help tiny display dots were greatly disappointing

You can see the digitizer grids/dots under the screen. Doesn't matter if the screen is lit or dark or if there is ambient light in the room or outside. Unacceptable. Thought it may have been a bad unit, but the other 3 I checked out at Best Buy were the same.

The Motorola Bravo was slightly less bad. You could just see the grid lines on that one.

These manufacturers need to take a lesson from Samsung/Apple on building a flawless display sub-structure. I don't want to see dots and lines in my screen.

It's no more sensitive than any other phone I have ever used. Artifacts on the screen just make it seem like a low end device.

I noticed that right away too. Not sure if it's gonna bother me or not, but I have 30 days to figure it out.

Coming from a blackberry, its like going from me 17" college CRT TV to my 46" Samsung LED playing a Blu Ray.

I literally have no idea what you guys are talking about lol

Turn the screen sideways, use a bright wallpaper or just the light from the room and you can see tiny little dots and grid lines under the screen.

It looks like someone left cheesecloth inside of it. :)

I have to say, while I can see the dots they don't impact my use of the phone or bother me at all. my iPhone 3G had similar dots on the screen.

I have a few complaints:

1) Camera quality

Coming from my iPhone 4 the camera on this device is horrible. All of my pictures come out slightly blurry indoors, almost like I move my hand a little bit before the picture gets taken. iPhone 4 still has the absolute best camera quality on any phone i've ever had, and i've owned phones from unlocked N95/96/N8, to SE K790a/c905/c902... Idk what Apple did, but the i4 has the best picture quality out of all of them. Low light, bright light, it didn't matter, it was great.

I haven't used the Inspire outdoors yet (which is where people say it takes amazing pictures) so I'll go test that out later to see what kind of results I get then.

2) Speaker is ridiculously quiet

I can barely hear alert tones/ringers even though all settings and the volume is turned up 100% I know it has potential becuase if you push the keybad while on a call those tones are very loud. This was very disappointing. I spend 90% of my time on vibrate anyway, so this isn't a killer, just annoyi

That's about all of the negatives I can conjure up in my 24+ hours with it.

Lots of positives, but for the sake of maintaining a negative connotation on this thread, I will save them for some other time.. lol.

Sorry but no. Just No.

You're right, my bad. Inconvenient typo. That was supposed to be N86.

I haven't had the N8. I almost bought it, but the lack of developer support (slingplayer specifically) held me back. My bad.

Is anyone else experiencing lackluster camera quality? I can't explain how it is, on the live preview it looks great quality, but when the final shot comes out they are all blurry/noisy. I don't have my iPhone 4 anymore to compare.

See if you can tell what I mean here... I took over 15 shots of this same image using different settings and this was generally the outcome.

The best I could get was this:

Not the worst ever, but definitely not the best, not even above average.

Yes, I know how to use the touch to focus. I've also tried letting the camera focus.

So far this is my favorite phone, but if anyone could give me camera tips i'd appreciate it!

A 5 Megapixel iPhone 4 camera is very very nice yes, maybe better than the 8 Megapixel one on the Inspire.

But better than the 12 Megapixel monster that Nokia put on the N8?

No.

Freaking.

Way.

My biggest complaint was going to bethe return to old-school voicemail, until I figured out how to configure Google Voice as a visual voicemail app. :D

Lol its actually quite cool Google voice

Yes, it's a pretty amazing system. I've only used it sparingly in the past, looks like I'll be getting to know it better now though...

Now if only I could get Lux DLX to be ported over to Android, I'd be 100% perfectly pleased. I just don't get the fascination with Angry Birds... :D

Yea me neither. I played it but ok its a game big whoop

I've had every iPhone, you could not see any digitizer grids or dots underneath. I've had Capacitive Samsung touchscreen phones, couldn't see any digitizer remnants underneath. Just screams cheap.

Dirt on the tires of a new car doesn't even compare to this problem. Orange peel in the paint would be a better analogy.
