Tips to keep your Droid Eris running fast

Ive noticed now, that after about a week with my Droid Eris, although a love it, it seems to be running much slower than when I bought it. I just created this thread for people to add anything that might help the Eris run as quickly as possible.

1. power phone completely off every couple of days.
2. advanced task manager seems to help
3. clear browser cache!!! - this helped me immensely. Settings>Applications>Manage Apps> then find your browser and clear the cache. do this with other large apps.

Footprints, IM, Peep, and Stocks are some of the apps that are built into Android and, thus far, there is no way to stop them from restarting. Try uninstalling them and you'll see what I mean.

no im saying that a bunch of the apps that were on the phone when i bought it, start themselves automatically at random points throughout the day

All those that I listed are on the phone when you buy it. Maybe I'm misunderstanding and you're talking about different apps?

1- Use the back button instead of the home button to exit apps (quit or exit is even better if available)

2- Clear cache on apps often to free up memory

3- Uninstall all task killers
