Tired of waiting for the bionic

I'm thinking about jumping ship from my OG Droid to the play. I'm not looking forward to the bulk of the play but the possible gaming capabilities of the play are VERY, appealing. I will be going with the Verizon version, any thoughts about rooting and romming the play? Any play devs out there? How does the play stack up against a rooted oc'ed and rommed Droid? I'm sick of waiting for the bionic to show up and I need a new phone. Feed back will be VERY appreciated.

I got the play purely because I am not confident int he 4g phones for Verizon at the moment, battery life on the 4g phones are pretty terrible, and I don't need the speed of 4g. I do like to play games and the Play does that fairly well despite having outdated hardware compared to other phones.

I would only get the xperia if you are willing to wait to get a 4g phone and you are going to actually play games a good bit on it, other than that the Xperia is an average phone without it.

i came from an og rooted flashed dorid and the play is way faster and smoother

I dont know why people say the play is bulky. Although 15% longer than the psp go. Its about the same size in thickness as the psp go. Its not iphone thin but you need some kind of weigh balance and dexterty for something that is going to be used for gaming. Or maybe im just crazy?
