Titanium Backup did not work.

Hello, I have a Huawei U8800 and it came with 2.2 (or 2.2.1, not sure) and I wanted to update it to 2.3.5, but before I did, I used Titanium Backup to backup all of my applications, and it opened up a folder on my SD card with the name of the application and inside it were files which I suppose were the backup files.
After updating the phone, everything I had was gone (except what was in the SD card) just as I suspected would happen.
So I download Titanium Backup again, but it says there are no backups yet. The folder is still in the SD card and the files are all "com.application name-numbersnumbersnumbers.properties".
I've tried going to Preferences->Backup folder location but the folder with the .properties files was already selected.
I've tried googling and searching this forum for similar situations but with not much luck.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear in my explanation, I'm kinda new at this android phone thing and this is my first post in this forum.

Did you re-root after the update? I admit I'm not knowledgeable on your particular phone but I have used Ti for years and I have not seen this problem before.

Go into TiBu and hit menu > preferences. You'll see "Backup folder location". It'll scan your SD card for the folder and give you options. You can also manually start the scan by pushing 'Detect!'.
