Root Titanium Backup, does it backup/restore all my apps (AND settings) when switching ROMs?

I'm still having a hard time trying to figure out how TiBackup works. I'm switching from Fresh ROM (froyo) to CyanogenMod 7 (gingerbread) and was wondering if TiBackup would help backup and then restore all my current apps and its settings/preferences over to CM7.

Its never a good idea to restore anything 'system' like settings when changing roms, things can get screwed up. Ti backup is perfect for apps and app data though.

it was a little confusing but i went ahead and tried it last night. works pretty good. i didn't understand the "system" part so when i backed it up, it messed things up. but i went back and just did the non-critical apps and app data restore and just reinstalled the more critical type apps and configured it myself.

excellent program. i wished i spent more time with this app when i first got the evo haha, but i don't think i'll be using it much since cyanogenmod7 works so much better.
