titanium backup help

just finally rooted my razr hd. for the main purpose of restoring things with titanium backup from my original razr(non hd)

when i go into titaniium backup, menu, batch actions... restore missing apps with data... there are 7 things there... adobe flash, reader appstore and 3 other things. all with strikes through them. in my titanium backup folder on my sd card there are 978 items. lots of apk.gz files, and a bunch of .properties files. i know that i have a lot more apps backed upt ehre, but nothing is showing up.

i have the backup folder location set to that folder too.

gah!!!

In TB click menu.

Under special features click reload application.

TB will rescan all its associated files and folders and should then find your missing backup information.

thanks. just tried that and it still is showing only 7 apps. well, 7 now cause i updated 2 of them...

flash player
photoshop express
amazon appstore
browser 4.1.2-58
webtop 1.0

ughh. frustrating. whole reason i decided to root was to get back my old appdata from 6 months ago.

Did you select your backup location in TB settings, or did you allow TB to scan for them?

In TB preferences

Backup folder location

Click "Detect" button

Select "Whole device"

Allow it to scan everything and see if it finds the proper folder.

And the old usuals like allow Unknown Sources, USB Debugging.
Sounds though like youv put the titaniumbackup folder in wrong place. By default i think it should be on root of SD0, internal SD or whatever. Dont give up. Your files are there

That's what I am thinking, it seems harder and harder to differentiate from internal sources and external these days on newer devices.

Allowing TB to scan the entire device should check all possible mount points.

not sure exactly what fixed it. was scanning whole device.. i had backups in 2 locations. internal and external. both gave same 5-7 backups. finially decided to uninstal and reinstall TB. still same thing. looked in other location and it had everything there. what a relief.

thanks for all your help.

5-7 backups lol. I have like 320apps!!! Every time i try to do a clearout, i cant find many that ijl never use

Ah its not as bad as i thought uploadfromtaptalk1384370911606.jpg :D

This is something very common, and I think I've seen this happen more times than anything else that could happen with TB. I wrote about it in my tutorial here.

Go into the Backup/Restore tab and then into Filters and make sure that Filter by Type is all ticked. If not, when you go to restore you will not see all of your backups.
